Guitar Instruction
Maria Wilson
|
Maria has been teaching private guitar and electric bass instruction
for almost 20 years. She has studied with some of the best instructors
in the country, including David Cullen (Windom Hill), Marcia Englar (Peabody
Conservatory), and Frank Romeo (Manhattan School of Music). Maria was
the winner of the 2002, 2003, and 2005 Fingerstyle Guitar Scholarship at
Duquesne University Guitar and Bass Workshop, sponsored by Martin
Guitar, Fender, and The Guitar Society of Fine Arts. Maria is also a
graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College with a Music Marketing
Degree.
Maria teaches Mondays through Thursdays at her home studio.
Maria is also on the faculty at Harrisburg Area Community
College/Lancaster Campus and teaches guitar, music business, and music
theory on Saturdays.
She is also a faculty member at State Street Academy of Music. In
addition, she teaches guitar clinics and rock music
clinics for several recreation facilities in Central PA.
On weekends, Maria performs featuring the music from the six albums
she ahs recorded and also in her guitar and violin duo, Acoustic
Crossover.
The cost of the lessons is $75 per month for 4 half hour lessons. If there
are five weeks in a month we will not meet the fifth week. If you need to cancel
a lesson you must give 24 hours notice or you will forfeit the lesson otherwise
lessons will be made up based upon availability.

Miss Molly Rahe
Private Music Instruction in Violin, Viola, Voice, and
Beginner Cello
Miss Molly Rahe graduated cum laude with a BM in Music Education
from Mansfield University in May 2004, specializing in voice and violin. Molly
has been playing violin since the age of 9.
At Mansfield, Molly participated in several groups including
Concert Choir, Opera Workshop, Mansfieldians (12 voice vocal jazz/madrigal
ensemble), Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, and Mansfield String Trio and gave two
recitals. Prior to college, she spent 6 years in String Quartet, York Junior
Symphony, the Hanover Symphony Orchestra, and went to district chorus her senior
year. She also spent two years at Westminster Choir College Summer Vocal
Institute.
Molly has studied violin and viola under the direction of Dr.
Kenneth Sarch (Mansfield University), violin with Adrian Bryttan (international
violin soloist), and voice under the direction of Dr. Youngsuck Kim (Mansfield
University), Julia Kemp (Westminster Choir College), and Ann Ackley Gray
(Westminster Choir College).
Molly is currently playing professionally with guitarist Maria
Wilson, in Acoustic Crossover. The duo formed in 2005 and since has performed
over 350 shows including weddings, festivals, private functions, and
coffeehouses.
Molly teaches Monday at The Country String Shop in Campbelltown,
PA, Tuesday and Wednesday at her apartment off of Union Deposit Road in
Harrisburg, Wednesday in Mifflintown, PA, and Thursday and Friday in Hanover,
PA. Molly's teaching style covers all genres of music from classical to rock.
Fee: $68/month for four half hour lessons due at the beginning
of the month. Payment can be in the form of cash or check. For months with 5
weeks, the 5th week will be used as a make up lesson if needed in the future. A
24 hour notice is needed when canceling a lesson.
